To expand our Monitoring segment, we are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Application Engineer to join our team active in the online Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) transformer monitoring industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in intelligent electronic devices (IED) systems designed to monitor automated production processes and/or the health condition of critical equipment. The role encompasses site survey, interpretation of required solution technical specifications, technical support, installation and commissioning, as well as training on our InsuLogix Dissolved Gas Analyzers. This role requires medium-to-extensive travel to our customers’ sites and to our organization’s regional production facilities and sales offices.

Your tasks:
- Responsible for supporting sales and delivery of Megger’s Monitoring solutions (specifically: online DGA monitoring systems), mostly from a technical point of view, for the region of Europe through cooperation with Regional Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Global Industry Leaders, Product Management, Marketing, and Factory Management
- This means in detail: Collaborate with the sales team to assess customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
- Provide technical expertise to customers during the pre-sales, installation, and post-sales phases of online DGA monitoring systems
- Support customers with our DGA monitors setup, commissioning, and integration into their systems
- Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations to showcase the benefits of DGA monitoring technologies
- Train customers on the use and maintenance of InsuLogix DGA monitoring systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure the good operation of the deployed InsuLogix DGA systems
- Assist in creating technical documentation, including manuals, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides
- Collaborate with the R&D team, provide feedback on product performance and potential improvements
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards, trends, and best practices in transformer monitoring and condition-based maintenance
- Domestic and international travel approx. 50%
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or electronics
- Advantage: Proven experience in transformer or electrical substation equipment monitoring
- Advantage: Familiarity with transformer DGA monitoring technologies and condition-based maintenance practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to (sometimes) non-technical audiences
- Experience with SCADA systems, communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, Modbus), and data analytics platforms is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to travel for on-site support and customer engagements
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages (e.g., Spanish, German, French, Portuguese) is a plus
- Experience collaborating with sales teams and contributing to business development initiatives
